Vermeer Great Plains is committed to supporting the educational pursuits of promising individuals in our local areas. Through our scholarship program, Equipped to Learn More, we aim to provide financial assistance to deserving individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to their communities. Equipped to Learn More is designed to empower those who want to pursue higher education in either college or trade school, fostering their personal and professional growth.
Applicants must be residents of the areas served by our company. (Oklahoma, Kansas, Western Missouri)
Academic Achievement
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Enrollment
Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in an accredited college, university, or trade school for the upcoming academic year.
Proof of enrollment is required.
Field of Study
There are no restrictions on the field of study. All majors and trades are eligible. However, we strongly urge and encourage those interested in the trade skills apply!
Financial Need
While not a strict requirement, priority may be given to students with demonstrated financial need who also meet the other required criteria.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship award amount will be determined annually based on available funds, the number of deserving, qualified applicants, and the cost of the applicant’s qualified expenses. (Scholarship award amount cannot exceed qualified expenses amount). Scholarship amount could range from $5,000 – $20,000.
The scholarship funds can be used to cover tuition fees, books, supplies, and other educational expenses.
Recipients could also receive mentorship opportunities and career guidance from professionals within our company if their career choice fits and is requested.
Application Process
Interested individuals must complete the scholarship application form, which can be obtained directly from Vermeer Great Plains, by scanning the QR code on this document or other marketing materials for Equipped to Learn More scholarship, or through designated educational institutions in the area.
Along with the application form that is required, students must submit the following documents:
Required
Unofficial transcripts from their current or most recent educational institution* (High School, College, or trade school), and proof of enrollment in school.
*(Those selected could be asked to submit official transcripts before award funds are disbursed).
Optional
A personal statement outlining their academic and career goals, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and any challenges they have overcome.
Optional
At least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, employer, or community leader.
Optional
Financial aid information if you need to demonstrate financial need priority.
All application materials must be submitted by the specified deadline.
A selection committee consisting of representatives from our company will review all applications and select scholarship recipients based on the eligibility criteria and the strength of their application materials.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by email and/or mail, and the award will be disbursed directly to their educational institution or the recipient (determined on a case-by-case basis and how the recipient wants funds disbursed).
Evaluation Criteria
Academic achievement and potential for success in higher education.
Leadership qualities, involvement and/or the aspiration of involvement in local communities.
Personal statement demonstrating motivation, determination, and a clear vision for the future.
Letters of recommendation highlighting the applicant’s character and accomplishments.
Financial need (where/when applicable).
Renewal and Continuation
The scholarship is not renewable, but the student may reapply. It would remain contingent upon the recipient’s academic performance, continued eligibility, and availability of funds by Vermeer Great Plains. Reapplying students must supply a progress report and GPA/transcripts from their school.
Recipients are encouraged to remain engaged with our company and/or the community through networking events, internships, or other local opportunities as they progress in their educational journey.
Publicity and Recognition
Scholarship recipients may be featured on our company website, social media channels, and other promotional materials to celebrate their achievements and inspire others in the community.
Our company may also organize recognition events or ceremonies to honor scholarship recipients and showcase their accomplishments.
